Stabbing Suspect Arrested Monday Morning: Police

The person suspected of stabbing a man in downtown Portland early Monday was arrested. The victim is expected to survive.

PORTLAND, OR — One person was arrested following a stabbing in downtown Portland Monday morning, according to police. The victim was reportedly taken to hospital with what police believe was a serious but non-life-threatening wound.

The suspect, who has not yet been identified, is reportedly a man.

Police Police Bureau officers were dispatched just after 7 a.m. Sept. 17 to the intersection of Northwest 14th Avenue and Northwest Glisan Street. There, officers found an adult male suffering from a stab wound.

After getting a description of the alleged stabber from the victim, police searching the area and found someone matching the suspect near Northwest 16th Avenue and Northwest Glisan Street. That person was arrested without incident, police said.

Officers searching the area also found the knife they believe was used in the stabbing, police said.

While police continue to investigate, the ramps from north and southbound Interstate-405 to Northwest Glisan Street will be closed, officials said. Additionally, Northwest Glisan Street will be closed between Northwest 14th Avenue and Northwest 17th Avenue.
