#TeamLola: Portland Rallies Around Toddler Fighting Leukemia
The community is rallying around Lola Cruz, a 15-month-old toddler fighting leukemia.

PORTLAND, OR -- A Portland family began the new year in the most devastating way: They were told their 15-month-old daughter has acute myeloid leukemia. Now the community, using the hashtag #TeamLola, is rallying around little Lola Cruz.
Lola was diagnosed with the heartbreaking illness after she was sick for weeks, according to a GoFundMe page created for the family.
"After hours of testing, her parents learned that Lola's blood count was extremely low, she tested positive for influenza, and she was still suffering from bronchiolitis," the GoFundMe page read. "Lola had lost all of her color, and all of her energy. It was here that the doctors brought up the likelihood of leukemia."

Lola was admitted to the Doernbecher Children’s Hospital in Portland where she is receiving treatment, the page said.
"This young family has made sacrifices and worked hard to recently fulfill some big dreams," the GoFundMe page said.
