McGowan joined the team as president and CEO back in October 2012 and three years ago was also made president and chief executive officer of Vulcan Sports and Entertainment, which oversees the Blazers and other properties controlled by Paul Allen.

Even though the news came out Friday, McGowan resigned on November 1.

The announcement of his resignation comes one week after allegations of workplace harassment surfaced against General Manager Neil Olshey.

Taking over for McGown will be Chief Commercial Officer and Executive Vice President Dewayne Hankins who is in his ninth season with the team. He recently negotiated the deal that brought cryptocurrency company StormX to the Blazers as a jersey sponsor.
