Interactive fountains, splash pads, and indoor and outdoor pools are options for Portland residents looking to beat the heat this summer.

PORTLAND, OR — As summer heats up across the region, Portland Parks & Recreation reminds residents of the many ways to cool off on the hottest days.
From interactive fountains and splash pads to both indoor and outdoor pools, Portland has several options for sweaty people of all shapes and sizes to get relief from the heat.
Interactive Fountains

- Bill Naito Legacy Fountain at Waterfront Park — at Southwest Ankeny Street, near the Burnside Bridge;
- Teachers Fountain at Director Park — 815 S.W. Park Ave.;
- Holladay Park — Northeast 11th Avenue and Holladay Street;
- Grant Park — Northeast 33rd Avenue and U.S. Grant Place (closed for repairs);
- Jamison Square — 810 N.W. 11th Ave.;
- McCoy Park — North Trenton Street and Newman Avenue; and
- Salmon Springs Fountain at Waterfront Park — Naito Parkway at Southwest Salmon Street.
Open during regular park hours, Portland's seven interactive fountains offer recirculated treated water to play in without the need for a bathing suit.

- Colonel Summer Park — Southeast 17th Avenue and Taylor Street;
- Columbia Park and Annex — North Lombard Street and Woolsey Avenue;
- Dawson Park — North Stanton Street and Williams Avenue;

- Elizabeth Caruthers Park — 3508 S.W. Moody Ave.;
- Essex Park — Southeast 79th Avenue and Center Street;
- Farragut Park — North Kerby Avenue and Farragut Street;
- Irving Park — Northeast Seventh Avenue and Fremont Street;
- Kenton Park — 8417 N. Brandon Ave. (opening mid-June);

Splash pads are open every day between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend.
