- Portland State University will host the 42nd Annual Wild Arts Festival on Dec. 10 and Dec. 11. The event at the university's Viking Pavilion will celebrate the relationship between art and nature, showcasing the works of local artists, authors, and musicians and raising funds for Portland Audubon. From 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily, festival attendees are also invited to meet with artists and authors for designated signing times. (Psuvanguard.com)
- The Starlight, a tenancy building designed to house homeless individuals, opens today in Old Town. The building contains a total of 100 units, with 70 units intended to provide permanent supportive housing for chronically homeless community members and 30 units allocated for locals with limited incomes. Funding for the project was provided by various partners including the Portland Housing Bureau-Portland Housing Bond, Oregon Housing and Community Services, and U.S. Bank. (KATU)
- Portland Fire and Rescue crews rescued a driver injured in a head-on collision early Wednesday morning. The incident occurred at Northeast 33rd Avenue and Northeast Lombard around 5:44 a.m., where crews arrived to discover one driver trapped inside their vehicle. The injured driver was transported to a nearby hospital to receive treatment for significant leg injuries. (KTVZ)
