Woman Burgled Apartment While Residents Slept: Police

Brandi Anderson reportedly broke into a third-story apartment early Thursday by climbing through a bathroom window.

PORTLAND, OR — Residents of a third-story apartment near Brooklyn City Park were awoken early Thursday to the sounds of someone breaking in through their bathroom window. A short while later, police caught up to the alleged burglar and took her into custody.

Brandi Alyse Anderson, 30, was taken to Multnomah County Jail following her arrest. She is charged with burglary, though she is also being held on warrants related to charges from July that allege possession of methamphetamine, theft, and indecent exposure.

Portland Police Bureau Central Precinct officers were reportedly dispatched to a burglary call just before 3 a.m. Aug. 23 in the 3300-block of Southeast 11th Avenue, just off Southeast Powell Boulevard on the Eastside of the Willamette River.

The residents at the apartment told police someone had pushed a fan out of their bathroom window and climbed into their third-story apartment while they slept. While an officer met with the residents, a woman matching the suspect's description — later identified as Anderson — was seen riding a bicycle away from the apartment.

PPB officers reportedly found and arrested Anderson while she was still riding along Southeast 11th Avenue.
