Loud 'Slabjacking' To Occur At SEPTA Crossing In Lower Gwynedd
Work will take place overnight between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

LOWER GWYNEDD TOWNSHIP, PA — Contractors will conduct a loud process called "slabjacking" overnight at a SEPTA crossing Lower Gwynedd Township Tuesday night, officials said.
The work will occur at the Plymouth Road grade crossing, located at Gwynedd Valley Station between Evans Road and Grasshopper Lane.
Officials said the work is slated for 10 p.m. and 6 a.m.

"Nearby residents, business patrons as well as those traveling through this area should expect detours at the crossing, loud noises from drilling and tamping and bright lights from the work area," Lower Gwynedd police shared.
The "slabjacking" is meant to smooth out imperfections in the crossing by pumping foam under the surface and using it to raise the road.
