Pizza Delivery Driver Shoots Carjacker In Chestnut Hill: Reports

A 21-year-old pizza delivery driver who is licensed to carry a firearm shot one of two carjackers Tuesday night in Chestnut Hill.

CHESTNUT HILL, PHILADELPHIA — A pizza delivery driver turned the tables on would-be carjackers Tuesday night in Chestnut Hill, shooting one of the two assailants, according to police and reports.

The incident unfolded just before midnight on the 7700 block of Stenton Avenue, according to Fox 29.

Two men wearing masks and armed with a gun came up to the driver, a 21-year-old man, while he was dropping off food, NBC10 reports.

The men forced the victim into his vehicle's back seat and demanded his phone, asking if he had any apps they could use to steal money, police said.

They also wanted to know where the victim lived and what business he worked for.

The driver eventually got out of the vehicle and fired two shots, striking one of the suspects, Action News reports.

According to reports, the delivery driver was not hurt and had a license to carry a firearm.

The suspect, who is in custody, was shot in the back.

The second suspect remains at large.
