Staging Silverstein (ages 6 - 11)
This class is about working with alternative texts, like poems, songs and popular stories to present them in a theatrical way while still conveying the prime message or intent of the original text. We will start by working with readings, using different voices and characterizations. We will use several poems by Shel Silverstein and some popular song lyrics as our scripts. Then Students will work on blocking, division of text and characterizations for presentation in a showcase at the end of the 8 week class session. This class will exercise staging skills, acting skills, script interpretation skills and overall performance skills, while being fun and challenging for young performers. Mondays 4:30 - 5:30pm

Theater Sports, Improvisation and Scene Study (ages 10 - 17)
Learn the basic structure and “rules” of Improv and Scene Study. Games like "What are you doing?", "Three Entrances" and "Party Quirks" are just a few of the Games we will explore and play. Then we will move onto more difficult Improv scenes, and complex Improv Games. Fun and engaging, these improv exercises will encourage creativity, as we use the skills developed through these games to work on scenes with scripted text for performance at the end of the session. Students will develop strong acting and stage presence skills, playing to the strengths of each individual participant. The session will end with a showcase for families and friends, that will include demonstrations of our favorite games, and performances of our best scenes worked on during the session. Mondays 6:00 - 7:00pm
