The Kelly Center Bluegrass Jam welcomes players and singers at all skill levels to participate at whatever level is comfortable for them.
"Bluegrass is a truly American music that actually was not created until the 1940s by mandolin legend, Bill Monroe," host and organizer Alfred Poor said. "It’s a wonderful blend of folk, blues, and jazz that just makes people smile."
The Kelly Center Bluegrass Jam is a spin-off from the Radnor Medium Jam which recently relocated to Malvern.
Tom Kelly, Chairman and Executive Director of the Kelly Center, pointed out that "building a musical community is central to our mission. This new bluegrass jam will provide new opportunities for people to create and enjoy music, especially for younger musicians who would like to learn more about bluegrass."
The Kelly Center is conveniently located at 4 E. Eagle Road in Havertown near the intersection of Darby Road.
Those 21 and older can bring their own alcohol.
