Longtime Delaware County Police Officer Dies

DARBY, PA — The Delaware County is mourning a longtime member of the emergency services community after the death of a local police corporal.

Darby Township Police Department said Cpl. Daniel Fynes.

Fynes served the community for more than two decades, having worked at the Delaware County 911 Center, as a juvenile officer, criminal investigator, and eventually a detective corporal in his law enforcement career.

Fynes was also a member of the Darby Township Police Department Sunshine Club.

"He embodied professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to the residents of Darby Township," police said. "We, the members of the Darby Township Police Department, extend our heartfelt condolences to the Fynes family during this difficult time. His service, sacrifice, and impact will never be forgotten."
