Man Charged After Hitting Wife In Delco: Pennsylvania State Police

The man — identified as MD Ziaul Haque, 43, of Upper Darby — was taken into custody and charged with simple assault and harassment.

UPPER DARBY, PA — An Upper Darby man was taken unto custody after authorities said he hit his wife.

Pennsylvania State Police said troopers were called to a property on the 1000 block of West Baltimore Pike in Middletown Township at about 2:05 p.m. Saturday.

There, the spoke with a 42-year-old woman who said her husband hit her in her mouth.

Troopers noted the woman's lower lip was bloodied.

The woman's husband, identified as MD Ziaul Haque, 43, of Upper Darby, was taken into custody.

He was charged with simple assault and harassment, according to court documents.

Haque was held after failing to post 10 percent of $10,000, court records show.

He is scheduled for a Dec. 17 preliminary hearing.
