This project will improve traffic operations and install Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices along a 10-mile section of U.S. 1 from Schoolhouse Lane in Concord Township, to just west of Weymouth Road in Springfield Township.

The proposed ITS improvements include the installation of 14 closed-circuit TV cameras, four changeable digital messaging signs, and underground fiber optics and power connections along the U.S. 1 corridor.

This project will also improve travel and safety at the Route 252/Providence Road and U.S. 1 Interchange by removing the raised concrete median to construct a designated left-turn lane from Route 252 to U.S. 1.
