Special Needs Children's Art To Be Showcased Thursday In Delco
The Delaware County Intermediate Unit's Adaptive ArT Showcase will feature paintings, drawings, sculptures and photography.
MORTON, PA — The Delaware County Intermediate Unit is hosting its third annual ArT Showcase Thursday, highlighting artwork created by students with special needs.
The show will be held from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. in Rooms 150-151 at the DCIU Education Center in Morton. A special sensory hour is planned for 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m., as well.
The Adaptive ArT Showcase will feature artwork created by students with special needs. "ArT" is intentionally spelled this way, as the A and T represent Assistive Technology-AT.

It was designed by DCIU staff members whose role is to help students who use assistive technology as an alternative means for learning, communicating, and activities of daily living.
The special needs student artists, along with their parents and teachers, from across Delaware County will be displaying their artwork, created using a variety of adaptive technologies.

Students with developmental challenges often learn differently and experience life in a different way than their typically learning peers.
DCIU’s ArT Showcase gives these students an opportunity to showcase their unique artwork including paintings, drawings, sculptures and photography.
The DCIU Morton Education Center is located at 200 Yale Ave. in Morton.
