Horsham Police Officer Honored For 30 Years Of Service

HORSHAM TOWNSHIP, PA — The township recently honored a police officer for 30 years of service with the Horsham Township Police Department.

Police Officer Andrew Nisbet was recognized at a recent Township Council meeting for his service to the community.

"Officer Nisbet has built a career defined by professionalism, leadership, and commitment to public safety," officials said.

From 1999-2012, Nisbet served with the Eastern Montgomery County SWAT team, while also taking on critical roles as Lead Firearms Instructor, SIMS Instructor, and member of the Motor Unit.

He has been assigned to highway duties since 1999, serving on the front line of traffic safety and enforcement.

"Thank you, Andrew, for three decades of service, leadership, and commitment to keeping Horsham safe," officials said. "Your impact on the department and community is truly appreciated."

In other township business:

  • Council members Sam Slaff, Ellen Zschunke, Ruth Patterson, and Elizabeth Thomson, and Township Manager Bill Walker attended the Montgomery County, PA Orientation for municipal officials.
  • There is no winter maintenance on township parks or trail systems. All park restrooms are closed. Portable toilets are available. Please be mindful of potential hazards that the winter and cold bring. Officials urge residents not to walk on any ice-covered pond and/or creek. Ice skating on township ponds is also not allowed. Parks and trails are open dawn to dusk.
