North Allegheny Graduate Returns to Pittsburgh to Speak at Women’s Health Conversations
Dr. Catherine Appleton oversees breast imaging for more than 40,000 patients annually.

Dr. Catherine Appleton, Assistant Professor of Radiology at Washington University in St. Louis and Chief of Breast Imaging at Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes-Jewish Hospital is returning to Pittsburgh as a speaker for Women’s Health Conversations: Prioritizing Your Body, Brains and Bliss, a national women’s health conference created and presented by Vonda Wright, MD.
A graduate of North Allegheny Senior High School, Appleton oversees all breast imaging, including high-risk breast cancer screening, for more than 40,000 patients annually.
She was named a U.S. News and World Report Best Doctor in 2012 and 2013.

In addition to her breast imaging work, Appleton is an award-winning teacher and has authored multiple peer-reviewed articles and co-authored a chapter in A Woman’s Decision: Breast Care, Treatment & Reconstruction, 4th ed.
The inaugural Women’s Health Conversations conference takes place Thursday, Sept. 2 at the Consol Energy Center in Pittsburgh.Â

The day-long event will feature many highly credentialed, nationally known speakers, including Appleton, participating in vibrant conversations to equip women to fortify their bodies, build their brains, live the life they envision and make the best health choices.
