Former Ross Commissioner Dies

The former commissioner spent more than a decade as a township elected official.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — Former township commissioner Grace Stanko died Saturday. She was 76.

Mrs. Stanko was a commissioner for 16 years, representing the 5th Ward from 2004 through 2020. She worked for 22 years at Metropolitan Life and for 35 years at North Hills Printing.

Commissioner Dan DeMarco said Mrs. Stanko also was the first woman to be elected as chair of the North Hills Council of Governments. She also was the past president of the Ross Township Historical Society.
