North Hills School District To Bolster Welding Program

North Hills School District will use a substantial state grant to upgrade its welding and technology program.

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — North Hills School District officials are heralding a nearly $200,000 state grant to support the North Hills Welding and Technology Program.

The grant was awarded through the state Department of Community and Economic Development's Manufacturing PA Training-to-Career Grant Program, which works with local manufacturers to identify and teach missing essential skills for entry level applicants seeking manufacturing employment.

The grant ensures the future of the welding and technology program, which began a decade ago. Superintendent Patrick Mannarino said the funding won't just benefit North Hills students, but also the region's manufacturing industry.
