Ross Grocery Store Seeks Liquor License
A growing number of grocery stores have begun selling alcohol within restaurants attached to the main supermarket.

The Kuhn's Supermarket in the North Hills Village shopping center is asking the Ross Township commissioners to approve the transfer of a liquor license from the borough of Turtle Creek.
The commissioners will conduct a public hearing on the request at their meeting on Monday, Oct. 7 at 7:30 p.m. at the Ross Municipal Center.
A growing number of grocery stores, including Giant Eagle and Whole Foods, have begun selling alcohol within restaurants attached to the main supermarket. State law requires the restaurant have a defined separation from the rest of the supermarket, a separate cashier, and seating for at least 30 patrons. The stores must sell beer to in-house customers as well as take-out.
