DeSales Inducts Collegeville Baseball Instructor into Athletic Hall of Fame

Chris Mitchell was just inducted into the DeSales University Athletic Hall of Fame, Friday, Sept. 23. Mitchell went to and currently works for Vanguard. He is also an instructor at the Pennsylvania Baseball Academy in Collegeville.

He was a standout player on the baseball team from 1994-96 leading the team in saves as both a freshman and sophomore before spending his junior season as a starter on a team that posted a 28-9 record and won the PAC Championship with an undefeated regular season and two wins over Alvernia in the Conference Playoffs.  Following his junior season Mitchell was drafted in the 24^th round by the Detroit Tigers, advancing as far as Single “A” ball in the organization.  He continues to rank among the all-time leaders at DeSales including tied for third all-time in saves (11) and 15^th in ERA (3.97).
