Arnold's Hosts Inaugural Kindergarten Kart Rally
Area 5- and 6-year-olds race for the finish in go-kart dash.
Arnold's Family Fun Center hosted an inaugural Kindergarten Kart Rally on Friday night. Registered 5- and 6-year-old boys and girls were eligible to race in Falcon and Junior go-karts.
Fifteen 5-year-olds matched up against nine 6-year-olds. Each age group was divided and bracketed upon registration. Racing in heats of three at a time, each child had to qualify for the next level by winning his or her heat.
Prizes, including T-shirts for all races, $5 gift cards for first-round participants, $10 gift cards and gold medals for round two winners and a grand prize of a $50 gift certificate and gold trophies for the winners of each age division, were handed out at the conclusion of each round.

Each child raced in a heat of three cars, doing five laps around the Junior Track to rally to the finish line. No hitting or bumping was allowed.
Chris Sandner, 5, of Collegeville, was able to take the trophy home for the 5-year-old division. Seamus Treacy, 6, of Eagleville, won the older bracket.

"We'd like to make this an annual event," said Nancy Roggio, sales and marketing director of Arnold's Family Fun Center.
She said, for the first time, this was a great event for the center.
"I'd like to thank all the parents of our Kindergarten Kart Rally racers for allowing your child(ren) to participate in this year's fun event," said Roggio.
