Local historical society hosts book collection, drive through June.

If you are seeking to combine some of your favorite pastimes: reading and history, you have no better chance than on Sundays this June. is currently hosting its June Book Sale at the Dewees Museum during the weekends this month.
Located at the intersection of Main Street and Route 113 in Trappe, the Dewees Museum, home of the historical society, is the hot spot to stock up for summer reading materials.
Each Sunday this month from 1:30 to 4 p.m., area residents can look through the society’s book collections, which have been donated. Contributions are still being accepted, as well.

“Start looking through your bookshelves for donations to the Historical Society,” said Linda J. Kehr Wiernusz president of the society in a recent press release. “They may be dropped off at the Dewees Museum on Thursday mornings from 9 [a.m.] to noon.”
Donators may also call to arrange a more convenient pick-up time.

“Books should be in fairly good condition,” requested Wiernusz. “Clear out your old books and replenish your shelves with a new supply, and get ready for some great summer reading.”
While you visit to donate, you can also learn more about the area’s history.
“It is also a good opportunity to tour the site,” Wiernusz said. “We invite your support and participation in our efforts to preserve the rich historical heritage of Trappe, Collegeville, and the Perkiomen Valley as a legacy for present and future generations.”
