Great Escape: Stay in the Area for a Hollywood 'Getaway'

This Sunday, Hollywood celebrities aren’t the only people who can get a night out.

The Ambler Theater is hosting its annual Oscar Party and Birthday Celebration on Feb. 27, starting at 6:30 p.m.

The restored theater is already a great place to catch independent and foreign films throughout the year, but everything gets kicked up a notch on Oscar night.

The event features food, live music from singer Jen Creed, a silent auction for a private party at the theater and raffle prizes of a laptop, iPad, basket of cheer and restaurant gift basket.

After attendees have indulged in some of the festivities, they can settle in front of one of the theater’s three screens to watch the awards ceremony. Take some friends, have a list of your own winning picks and feel free to gloat when you get it right.

Guests can dress up or down. Tickets are $40 each and still available for purchase.
