Support 'Local Farms, Local Food' while visiting today's Collegeville Famers' Market.

The is now in full swing. Located behind the AmeriGreen Gas Station at 460 E. Main St., the spaces are lined with vendors from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Today, guests to the market can have an added bonus of chowing down on awesome eats and supporting a good cause: "Local Farms, Local Food."
According to an article in the Mercury, a collaboration between Bendy Brook Farms and Big Dutt's BBQ Sauce will meet together in a tasty treat for visitors this morning.

Those that purchase food at its stand will be supporting the "Local Farms, Local Food" initiatives both businesses hope to continue to promote.
“Any money raised will support the farm market and help us to promote our ‘local farms, local food’ message,” Maureen Lafferty Cawley, event manager, said to the Mercury. “Our mission is to make sure farmers have a place to sell their goods and local residents have a place to buy quality local food. In addition, the market is a great community meeting place, like a town square, where neighbors can talk, listen to music and learn about local agriculture, businesses and artisans.”

Just $2.50 to $3.75 can get you an all-natural hot dog, burger or chicken leg, quarter or wings. Since the meats were given at-cost and the sauce for free, (and yes, even volunteering workers for free) the event is geared to bring in funds for the local message.
According to the article, Market vendor A’Dello Vineyards & Winery will also be handing out samples of sangria mixes made with its own wines.
