No Work Stoppage: Tentative Deal reached in PVSD

PVEA membership needs to ratify deal.

A tentative agreement has been reached between the Perkiomen Valley School Board and members of the Perkiomen Valley Education Association (PVEA), according to union spokesperson Garreth Heidt, Sunday evening.

The work stoppage, which would have begun Tuesday without a deal, is off the table.

"It must be ratified by (PVEA's) membership. We believe it's best deal possible for both parties,” Heidt said.

The agreement came after more than "five hours of (intense) negotiations," according to a statement released by the Perkiomen Valley School District.

The PVEA is slated to ratify the agreement the week of March 7, and "the school board on March 14," the statement continues. "No details on the terms of the agreement will be shared until ratification occurs," the statement reads.
