Protect Your Identity

Trappe offers free shredding event Saturday.

In this day and age, there are many ways to have personal information shared in unintentional ways. One way local residents can secure their documents is through shredding.

Proshred Security has been offering such services for more than 25 years. And this Saturday, they’ll be bringing their expertise to Trappe.

Residents of the borough can bring by any paper documents they’d like to have destroyed down to the Borough Hall from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 28. The free shredding event will be hosted on a first-come, first-served basis.

“The event is only open to Trappe residents,” said the Trappe Borough website. “Please remember to bring identification. “

Proshed said it offers the services to protect individuals’ identities.

“To help combat identity theft and corporate espionage, Proshed conducts regularly scheduled community shredding events for residents and home office workers to bring their confidential documents for secure, on-site destruction,” said the site.

To ease visitors’ piece of mind, the company shreds the documents directly in front of visitors. The organization brings mobile shredding trucks to get the job done.

Beth Jung, of American Strategic Insurance, has professionally used the services of Proshred, and appreciates what they have to offer.

“I like that you are very accommodating,” she said in a review of the services, “and have worked with our business during its ebbs and flows. Thank you for your excellent customer service and business partnership.”
