Schwenksville Woman Unharmed After Car Slides More Than 70 Feet Down Embankment
Initial reports indicate car may have 'accelerated' leading up to crash.
In a practically miraculous turn of events, a Schwenksville woman was uninjured after her car plummeted an estimated 75 feet down an embankment on Second Street in the borough shortly before 8:30 Thursday morning.
The woman, who works at the , was pulling into a parking space across the street from the school and when—according to personnel on the scene—her car "suddenly accelerated" and drove out of the parking space, sliding down the steep hill and coming to rest on the driver's side.
A co-worker at the day care center walked down the hill and helped the driver leave her car, according to Pastor Dan Schaefer.

"The Good Lord was looking out for her," Schaefer said about the woman who was able to literally walk away from the scene.

Norm's Save Station worked for nearly an hour to pull the car back up the hill. An employee shoveled away some of the earth and cleared stray branches from the steep path. One of the tires separated from the vehicle, and it also suffered front, rear and side damage.
