The Great Escape: A 'Premium' Outdoor Spot

Timing is everything. Our new “Great Escape” feature missed the weeks when we were getting snowed in, so we can offer a few more ideas than “How to Go to the Bathroom Without the Kids Trying to Keep you Company.” Although PV Patch admits that escape could be the greatest—and most elusive—of all.

So, with the temperature predicted to hover around 60 degrees today (please, please), Perkiomen Valley Patch encourages taking a walk—at the Philadelphia Premium Outlets in Limerick. Since the outdoor mall came to the area a few years ago, it’s been a must-go spot for the region. Nearby roads have been known to turn into parking lots in the early hours of Black Friday.

Open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. today, the growing number of stores provides options for high-end and budget-conscious shoppers, men and women, and kids and adults. This writer is partial to Yankee Candle, the awesome lotions at Crabtree & Evelyn, the Ann Taylor Factory Store and the Book Warehouse.

 It’s place where you can no doubt treat yourself, but there’s also children’s clothing and toy stores where you can snag your crew a few advance birthday presents or “thanks for being good” surprises.
