5 Things to Know This Week in PT

PTA profile, coupon fundraiser, Cooking Club, fall classes at Peters Township Community Recreation Center and Pennsylvania Trolley Museum happenings.

Update your PTA profile. If you're new to  or were not in the PTA directory last year and would like to be included in 2012-13, complete and submit the form (see attached) by Friday. Questions? Email ptsd.directory@gmail.com. 

Coupon book fundraiser. The  will soon be selling the ENJOY coupon book as a library fundraiser! The book is jam-packed with more than a thousand offers in the area—the Pittsburgh edition is $30. The library expects delivery of the 2013 book next week. PTPL will accept payment in cash or checks made payable to "Friends of the Peters Library." Coupon offers are valid through Nov. 1, 2013.

Cooking Club's next meeting. The Cooking Club's next meeting is Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. The theme is French foods! To attend, you must register by Tuesday, Sept. 4. You can register online , at the library circulation desk or call 724-941-9430. A $5 fee will be collected at the meeting.

If you are interested in being a volunteer chef, please email the club or call 724-941-9430 (ext. 327). You will be reimbursed for your cooking expenses.

Register for fall classes. Peters Township Parks and Recreation Department is offering fall classes at the . Pre-registration—online or at the center—started Monday for Session 5 (eight weeks of classes—September/October). Classes begin Thursday, Sept. 6, unless otherwise stated.

The CRC will be closed Sept. 1-4 for gym floor refurbishing. The CRC will reopen tentatively on Sept. 5. Questions? Call 724-942-5000.

Trucks, tractors and trolleys. The annual Trucks, Tractors & Trolleys at the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum is Sunday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The museum will have dozens of antique trucks and tractors, as well as a World War II encampment, trolley rides, a model train display, tours and kids' activities. 

Admission also includes unlimited rides on as many as three different trolleys and tours of the Trib Total Media Trolley Display Building (which houses 30 trolleys from all over the region). Patrons can purchase food, ice cream and enjoy a picnic area and a DJ, too. 

Admission is $9 for adults, $8 for seniors (ages 62+) and $6 for children 3-15. Children under 3 are free. There is also a special family rate of $35 for up to two adults/seniors and four children.
