Clean-Up Day & Recycling Collection

The Peters Township Environmental Quality Board sponsors a yearly Clean-Up Day, and this year has added a recycling event for unusual items. 

They are asking for volunteers to clean litter along the roadways in the township. Interested individuals or groups are to come to the between 8:30-9 a.m. for an assignment, instructions, gloves and bags. The clean-up happens rain or shine.

Residents can bring used bicycles, scrap metals, automotive batteries, large plastic items (porch & lawn furniture, climbing toys, slides swing sets and similar items of 100 percent plastic), cell phones (including batteries & chargers - benefits eco programs of the Pittsburgh Zoo & get reduced price tickets!), tires ($2 each, up to 16 inches diameter), computers, monitors and printers ($5, $10 and $5 each) and TVs (size dependent $20-55).
