Letter to the Editor: Peters Republican Party Signs Stolen
Patch received the following letter from Bob Woeber, Vice Chairman of the Republican Party of Peters Township, on October 30.

Two crimes were committed in Peters Township on Tuesday night. One was theft and the other was a violation of the First Amendment of the Constitution, the part protecting free speech. The Republican Party of Peters Township recently developed a unique set of campaign signs that were placed along Rt. 19 to counter the misleading information being perpetrated by the Wolf campaign. These signs actually spoke the truth about Governor Corbett’s record and Tom Wolf’s plans. The signs cost over $400 to produce, and they were stolen Tuesday evening.
This is another classic example of radical liberals trying to silence any views but their own by any means necessary. The signs spoke truth that the left could not counter in any way other than stealing the signs. Their dishonesty and desperation leaves them unable to win in the arena of ideas, and willing to actually commit larceny to silence their opposition. Many of the Corbett signs in Washington County have been stolen as well.

Whether you agree with the messaging or not, decent people of either party should certainly agree that committing the crime of larceny is wrong and should not be tolerated. Win or lose, whoever took the signs should be ashamed of themselves!
