Peters Girls Lacrosse on Top of WPIAL Rankings

The Peters Township girls lacrosse program continues to impress with its undefeated season—now 8-0.

The girls lacrosse team is now the top-ranked program in the WPIAL. According to laxpower.com, the Indians, who are now a perfect 8-0, are the team to beat in western Pennsylvania. Peters Township is one of three undefeated programs in the WPIAL along with North Hills and Bethel Park.  

Yesterday, the Indians topped Shady Side Academy in a showdown of powerhouse teams. Peters won the match 17-10, handing Shady Side Academy its first defeat of the season. In the contest, Caitlin Carey led the way with four goals and an assist. Alyse Kilberg, Torrey Schwartz, Allison Hurley and Hanna Wilcox all added goals in the victory.

The Indians have nine contests remaining this season, three of which are at home. Peters' next match has them traveling to Seneca Valley Monday evening for an 8 p.m. start.

The next home game is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 26th in a much-anticipated rematch with Shady Side Academy.
