Peters Native Advances to Second Round in Wimbledon
It was Alison Riske's first grand slam win.
Peters Township native Alison Riske upset the No. 31 seed at Wimbledon this week.
Riske defeated Romina Oprandi of Switzerland. She was up 6-7 (5), 7-5, 3-1 when Oprandi retired with an injury.
At 6:30 a.m. Friday, Riske will face Poland's Urszula Radwanska. Riske is ranked 126 in the world and Radwanska is ranked 44.
