PITTSBURGH, PA — Someone bought a Pennsylvania Lottery Powerball ticket in Oakland last year and it ended up winning the purchaser $100,000.

The problem is that no one has stepped forward to claim their winnings and the ticket is now approaching its expiration date, lottery officials said.

The ticket for the Oct. 4 2023 drawing, sold at the Rite Aid on Atwood Street, matched four of the white balls drawn (9-35-54-63-64) and the red Powerball to win the $100,000 prize.

Lottery officials warned in a release that they must receive a prize claim, either by mail or at a lottery area office, by Friday Oct. 4 or the winner will miss out on the money.

Two other large jackpot winners in Pennsylvania also are set to see their tickets expire soon. One is a $1 million winning ticket sold in Philadelphia, the other is a $150,000 winner sold in Lehigh County.
