2 Dead After Being Hit By Bus In Pittsburgh Area
A Pittsburgh-area community sees its second fatal incident on a busy street this year.
INDIANA, PA — For the second time in seven months, a deadly pedestrian accident has occurred on a main Indiana Borough Street.
The one Monday claimed the lives of two people.
Police said that the pair were struck and killed by an Indiana County Transit Authority bus Monday at around 2 p.m. at the intersection of Philadelphia and 7th streets.

"The bus was traveling west on Philadelphia Street on impact," an Indiana Borough police department report stated.
"The pedestrians were on the roadway at the intersection. The status of traffic signal, pedestrian cross signal, direction of pedestrian travel, vehicle speed and movements, operator activity and environmental conditions are all part of our active investigation and that information will become public when it is available for release."

The pair killed has been identified as Ronald Mabon, 68, and Christina Marie Perez, 39.
The incident is the second deadly accident on Philadelphia Street in seven months. In March, a couple died after being struck by a delivery truck that was turning onto the heavily traveled road.
"The March crash investigation is nearing, but has not reached full closure," the police department release stated. "Today's investigation is active, will involve the expertise of several partner agencies and will be thoroughly and professionally executed."
