2 Iconic Pittsburgh Broadcasters Bound For PA Hall Of Fame
The Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters is about to induct two Pittsburgh personalities into its Hall of Fame.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Two broadcasters who have been Pittsburgh fixtures for decades will be inducted into the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame next month.
Recently retired WPXI-TV news anchor David Johnson will be inducted into the TV Hall of Fame and famed morning show personality Jack Bogut will be inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame at the association's Excellence In Broadcasting Awards in Harrisburg on April 11.
After a four-decade career, Johnson announced his retirement from WPXI in November. He was part of the longest-running anchor team in Pittsburgh TV history, along with Peggy Finnegan before her retirement in 2020.

The pair were named 2016 Broadcasters of the Year by the Pennsylvania Association of Broadcasters, the first anchor team to win that honor. Johnson and Finnegan also received the 2015 Press Club of Western Pennsylvania's President's Award for career achievement in journalism.
As the host of KDKA-AM’s morning show for more than 15 years, Bogut was featured on ABC's “Good Morning America” and in USA Today as one of the 5 highest-rated radio personalities in the nation. After a brief and ill-fated stop at WTAE-AM, he moved to WJAS-AM and helped it become the country’s highest-rated nostalgia-format station. He also created the locally famous Farkleberry
cookie.
