2 Teens Charged, Multiple Weapons Seized In Pittsburgh Shooting
Two teens are in custody after shots rang out in a Pittsburgh-area community.
PITTSBURGH, PA — Two teens are facing numerous charges and a cache of weapons was seized following a shots fired incident in North Braddock.
On May 4 at 1:34 p.m., the Eastern Regional Mon-Valley Police Department was dispatched to the 700 block of 6th Street for a report of shots fired. Police determined an occupied vehicle was shot at and hit multiple times, but no one was injured. The Allegheny County Police Department launched an investigation into the incident.
Through their investigation, detectives were able to determine the incident began in Braddock. It was also determined the suspect vehicle was reported stolen from North Huntingdon Township. The vehicle was recovered in Pittsburgh at approximately 7:30 p.m. on May 4. Through witness interviews and social media posts, detectives were able to identify the suspects as Nasir Williams, 15, and Jmeire Estes, 17. After consultation with the district attorney’s office it was determined both juveniles would be charged as adults.

On May 9, detectives with the Allegheny County Police's violent crimes and firearms team, with assistance from Eastern Regional Mon-Valley Police and North Versailles Police, executed a warrant on Maple Street in East Pittsburgh where Estes was taken into custody. Detectives recovered four firearms, including a handgun with a “Glock switch.” A “Glock switch” is a device that allows a semi-automatic handgun to function as fully automatic and is illegal under federal law.
With assistance from Pittsburgh Police and the U.S. Marshals Service, Williams was also taken into custody on May 9 in Pittsburgh and possessing a stolen firearm at the time of his arrest.

Both Williams and Estes are facing multiple charges to include aggravated assault, possession of a firearm by a minor, recklessly endangering another person and criminal conspiracy.
