2 Wounded, Dozens Of Shots Fired In Pittsburgh Area On Thanksgiving

Gunfire rang out in Pittsburgh and Port Vue on Thanksgiving Day.

PITTSBURGH, PA — Police are investigating two separate Thanksgiving Day shooting incidents in and around Pittsburgh that appears to have left two people wounded.

Just before 3 p.m., Pittsburgh police were dispatched to the area of Ellers Street between Whitridge Street and Passage Way in West Oakland for three separate ShotSpotter alerts totaling 31 rounds.

Witnesses describe a white vehicle fleeing the scene. Multiple shell casings were found in the area.

About an hour later, a man with a gunshot wound walked into a local hospital with a gunshot wound to the arm. He was last listed in stable condition. The victim was largely uncooperative with police about where the shooting occurred.

According to Pittsburgh Public Safety officials, detectives are investigating both incidents, which may be related.

Meanwhile, Allegheny County police are investigating a shooting in the 1300 block of Romine Avenue in Port Vue that occurred shortly after 10 p.m. First responders went to that area and found a juvenile male who had suffered a single gunshot wound. He was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
