4 Dead In Western PA Crash: Latest Info
Four people died in a head-on collision in a Western Pennsylvania community.
MERCER COUNTY, PA — The four people killed in a head-on collision in Lackawannock Township have been identified.
Authorities have announced the victims in the fatal crash were Jacob James Leathe, Urie D. Byler, Larry Miller and Cynthia Miller.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, Leathe, 21, on Friday was driving at a high rate of speed when he crashed into a pick-up truck driven by Larry Miller. Byler, 19, was Leathe’s passenger at the time of the crash. Both were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.

A police report states Leathe made a left-hand turn at an intersection and hit the Millers’ truck head-on. The impact caused Leathe’s vehicle to travel off the roadway into an embankment, where it flipped over before landing on the roadway. The vehicle then caught fire, the report states.
Larry Miller, 76, was being transported to a hospital when he died. Cynthia Miller, 76, was taken to the hospital, where she later died.
