4-Year Pittsburgh Mystery Ends With Woman's Body Identified
Janet Walsh went missing in January 2020. Years later, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office has identified her remains

SHALER, PA — More than four years after she disappeared, the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's Office has identified the remains found last month in a vehicle in the Allegheny River in Oakmont as those of Janet Walsh.
She was 70 when she vanished in January 2020 after making plans to meet her daughter.
The daughter found Walsh and her vehicle gone from Walsh's residence, but her cell phone was found inside the home. She contacted several of Walsh's friends in an attempt to locate her, then contacted Shaler police.

Walsh's vehicle was found in the river near California Avenue in Oakmont. After the vehicle was recovered, investigators discovered human remains inside.
"We are saddened by this outcome, but thankful Janet has been found and for the long awaited closure the family has been looking for," Shaler police stated in a post on social media. "Our deepest condolences go to all family and friends of Janet."
