9-Year-Old Pittsburgh Girl Killed In Bike-Car Crash

A nine-year-old girl riding her bike in a Pittsburgh neighborhood Sunday was struck by a vehicle and later died.

PITTSBURGH, PA — A nine-year-old girl died Sunday when she was hit by a vehicle while riding her bike in the city's Homewood South neighborhood.

The incident occurred just after 5:30 p.m. on Rosedale Street near Tacoma Street.

First responders found the girl lying in the street with traumatic injuries. She was taken to Children's Hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead a short time later.

The victim has been identified as Courtney Carter.

The driver of the vehicle, an adult female, stayed at the scene and was cooperative with officers.
