Aldi has plans to convert an office supplies store into a new grocery in Pittsburgh.

PITTSBURGH, PA — After opening a new store in the city's Lawrenceville section this month, Aldi has plans to add another store in Pittsburgh.
The grocery chain is slated to appear before the city Zoning Board of Adjustment next month to gain approval for a new store at 2515 Banksville Road in Banksville. Aldi wants to convert a Staples store still in operation into its latest grocery.
The location would be near an existing Kuhn's supermarket at 3125 Banksville Road.

In March, Aldi announced plans to add 800 stores nationwide by the end of 2028 through a combination of new openings and store conversions.
“Our growth is fueled by our customers, and they are asking for more ALDI stores in their neighborhoods nationwide,” Aldi CEO Jason Hart said at the time. “With up to 40 percent savings on groceries, new customers are inspired to try us out, and existing customers keep coming back... With this commitment to add 800 stores in the next five years, we’ll be where our shoppers need us while positively impacting the communities we serve.”
