Allegheny County Now Requires Chaperones At Pools
Allegheny County has begun enforcing a new chaperone policy at its four swimming pools. Get the details here.

ALLEGHENY COUNTY, PA — If you're under the age of 16 and want to visit a county pool on your own, you are out of luck. County officials on Tuesday implemented a new chaperone policy at the four county pools, Boyce, North, Settlers and South.
Visitors ages 16 and under now must be accompanied by an adult at least 21 years old with valid photo ID. Proof of age will be required for those 17 and older if age is not easily determined. One parent or guardian over 21 can escort up to four youths during any single visit.
An exception to that rule applies to group leaders and/or camp counselors. They can escort all children they are responsible for but should call 412-350-2455 in advance.

Chaperones are responsible for the actions of the escorted youth. If an escorted youth is banned from the pool, the adult escort and group will be banned for the same period.
All chaperones must remain on the pool grounds for the duration of their party’s visit.
