America's Top Sports Cities Ranked: See How Pittsburgh Fared In Study
A new study has ranked the best sports cities in the country. Pittsburgh is among them.
PITTSBURGH, PA — You already knew Pittsburgh is a great city for sports lovers, but that opinion has been quantified again in a recently released study.
Financial analytics website WalletHub has determined that Pittsburgh is the nation's third-best sports city, ranking only behind Los Angeles and Boston. In making that determination,
WalletHub compared 400 cities across more than 50 key metrics related to the five largest sports in the U.S.: football, baseball, basketball, soccer and hockey.
“Sports can cause rivalries between cities, but can also give people a deep appreciation for places other than their hometown," WalletHub analyst Chip Lupo said in a release. "The best sports cities overall tend to be those with the highest-performing, most-popular professional teams, like Los Angeles, Boston, Pittsburgh and New York."
