Another Gun Seized At Pittsburgh International Airport

A man has been charged after his gun was confiscated at Pittsburgh International Airport. Patch provides the details.

FINDLAY TOWNSHIP, PA — Allegheny County Police have charged an Ohio man after a firearm was discovered Sunday at the main security checkpoint at Pittsburgh International Airport.

At 7:39 a.m.m on July 27, Transportation Security Administration officers observed a handgun within a passenger’s carry-on bag at the checkpoint and alerted police.

Justin Stanley, 47, did not have a valid concealed carry permit. Stanley is facing one misdemeanor charge for carrying a firearm without a license. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was also notified.

Passengers who bring firearms into an airport security checkpoint can face federal civil fines from the Transportation Security Administration up to $10,000. Repeat offenders can be fined up to $13,910.
