"The investigation leads toward this being an act of vandalism and perhaps a statement against this bank or the banking industry at large."

ROSS TOWNSHIP, PA — Police are seeking the public’s help to find a man who set an ATM ablaze early Tuesday morning in Ross Township.
The man approached the standalone ATM with a gas can shortly after midnight at the Chase Bank at McKnight and Siebert roads, according to police, who said he doused the machine and lit it on fire before fleeing. The ATM had superficial damage from the blaze, police said.
“The investigation leads toward this being an act of vandalism and perhaps a statement against this bank or the banking industry at large,” according to a social media post from the Ross Township Police Department. “It is not believed to have been an attempt to steal money or otherwise compromise the ATM.”
