Bankrupt Pharmacy Chain: Latest Pittsburgh Prescription Location Switches

PITTSBURGH, PA — Giant Eagle this week will assume pharmacy prescriptions for 17 additional Rite Aid stores after previously announcing it will take over such duties from 78 stores of the bankrupt chain in Pennsylvania and Ohio.

Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy on May 4 for the second time in less than two years after the previous restructuring lessened the pharmacy chain's debt but still left it on unsound financial footing.
