PITTSBURGH, PA — Renowned amateur pizza reviewer Dave Portnoy continues to post videos of his recent trek to Pittsburgh to sample some pies.

After stopping at A Slice of New York in Murrysville and Bella Notte in the Strip District, it was off to Delmont to visit Ianni's. Then it was back to the Strip District to sample the pie at Pizza Davideon Penn Avenue.

For his final stop on this Pittsburgh trip, Portnoy went to Iron Born pizza in Millvale. The pizzeria has a second location in the Strip District.

Portnoy, the founder of the Barstool Sports media company, can provide a boon to a pizzeria. His One Bite Pizza Reviews channel on YouTube has 1.34 million subscribers; the video of his trip to Iron Born, uploaded Wednesday, had more than 166,000 views as of Thursday morning.

It contains some salty language for a product Portnoy is hawking as he stands outside the Grant Avenue pizzeria that he said "has an intimidating name."

As he prepares to eat a slice of the Detroit-style pizza, he said the pie had "good looking Detroit sauce. This one is drenching in sauce."

He took a few bites, termed the pizza a "cold weather" pie and gave it a 7.4 rating on a 1-to-10 scale.

For those keeping score at home, here are the ratings thus far in Portnoy's Pittsburgh pizza tour:

  • A Slice of New York: 8.2
  • Pizza Davide: 7.9
  • Ianni's: 7.7
  • Iron Born: 7.4
  • Bella Notte: 7.2
