Dave Portnoy's One Slice Pizza Reviews offers its opinion on A Slice of New York pizzeria in Murrysville.
MURRYSVILLE, PA — Perhaps the most renowned amateur pizza reviewer, Dave Portnoy came to Pittsburgh last week to sample some pies. His first stop was A Slice of New York, located in a nondescript strip of shops on Route 22.
He liked what he tasted.
Portnoy, the founder of the Barstool Sports media company, can provide a boon to a pizzeria. His One Bite Pizza Reviews channel on YouTube has 1.34 million subscribers; the video of his trip to A Slice of New York, uploaded on Wednesday, had more than 164,000 views as of Thursday afternoon.

It shows Portnoy carrying a large pizza out of the shop, opening the box and proclaiming the pie had good firmness. He sampled a bite of it before a gathering of onlookers before proclaiming, "This is a legit great pizza."
On a 1-to-10 scale, he gave it an 8.2 rating.

Owner Sean Jefairjian was ecstatic, hugging Portnoy and telling him, "You've made my career."
A curious Portnoy then asked Jefairjian how he came up with the recipe for his fantastic pie.
"Boredom and COVID," Jefairjean said.
