Body Found In Mon River Near Sandcastle Was Missing Pittsburgh Woman
The woman's body was discovered Thursday in the Monongahela River near Sandcastle.
WEST HOMESTEAD, PA — The body of a Pittsburgh woman who had been reported missing was found Thursday afternoon in the Monongahela River near Sandcastle water park.
Allegheny County 911 was notified of the body at 1:34 p.m. and Pittsburgh River Rescue discovered the body a short time later.
The county medical examiner's office identified the woman as Latasha Jefferson, 36, who was last seen in Oakland Wednesday at approximately 12 p.m.

The cause and manner of death have yet to be released, but county police said there were no obvious signs of foul play.
